Industrial Cellular Gateway

ICX35-HWC

The ICX35-HWC Industrial Cellular Gateway is used for any remote connectivity applications like remote access, SCADA connectivity to remote sites, or M2M communications.

It is the ideal communications solution for system integrators and OEMs that need to monitor devices in hard-to-reach spots. With the ICX35-HWC, the user can monitor and troubleshoot devices from anywhere in the world over 4G LTE cellular connections, with fallback to 3G or by using the on-board Ethernet port as a WAN/LAN port.

Belden Horizon™

The ICX35-HWC can also be monitored through Belden Horizon™. This is Belden’s IT-secure and OT-friendly cloud-native platform for the Industrial Internet of Things. This service can be accessed anytime, anywhere in the world, offering the user a secure and intuitive web interface to monitor their automation devices in real time.

Distributed Network Protocol (DNP3) Master Gateway

PLX51-DNPM

The PLX51-DNPM Master Gateway provides intelligent routing between DNP3  and either EtherNet/IP™ or Modbus® protocols. The gateway supports Ethernet and Serial communications.

PLX51-DNPM gateway is a DNP3 master.

The gateway allows the user to integrate DNP3 devices over a secure link into a Rockwell Automation® Logix system with minimal effort. No copying or mapping of data in the Logix controller is required, as the PLX51-DNPM writes directly into Logix tags.

The PLX51-DNPM allows users to integrate the gateway into a Modbus TCP/IP or serial network. The gateway supports Modbus TCP/IP Client and Server and Modbus RTU protocols.

Secure Authentication

The module provides DNP3 Secure Authentication v5, which enables the user to connect DNP3 devices to a Logix platform securely. The module also provides a range of diagnostics and statistics, as well as a DNP3 traffic analyser to assist with fault-finding.

Connectivity Solutions for Water and Wastewater Applications

Water and wastewater applications are faced with the need to connect their equipment reliably. With real-time connectivity between disparate or wide-ranging equipment, you can:

  • Ensure reliable communications between equipment across your application
  • Perform predictive maintenance to increase productivity
  • Limit time spent on-site

As water and wastewater service areas and needs expand, robust, wide-ranging connectivity solutions are necessary. In addition, equipment that requires monitoring across the application – including pump stations, flow meters, and filtration or sedimentation systems – may use different industrial protocols incompatible with your automation control system.

Using wireless, remote access, and industrial protocol converters can be beneficial across your architecture:

  • Real-time visibility: Connect smart RTUs to your PAC; securely and remotely connect your treatment plant’s sedimentation and filtration systems to your MCC.
  • Decrease downtime and site travel with a remote SCADA solution: Use the Persistent Data Network to monitor and troubleshoot flow meters and other equipment remotely.
  • Reduce energy costs: Use data logs from smart energy meters to conserve resources.
  • Reduce connectivity costs with reliable wireless radios, which can be seamlessly added to your network as your service area expands.
  • Implement Defense-in-Depth security measures, including Single Sign-On and two-factor authentication, to help protect your remote equipment.

Secure remote connectivity

Secure Remote Connectivity (SRC) is becoming increasingly vital for modern businesses, and Belden Horizon offers a robust solution. This platform provides a secure, reliable, and scalable means to connect remote assets and data streams. With its advanced encryption and authentication protocols, Belden Horizon ensures that only authorized users can access the network, protecting sensitive information from cyber threats. Additionally, its user-friendly interface allows for easy management of connections, making it an ideal choice for organizations looking to enhance their remote operational capabilities.

With remote connectivity solutions, you can:

Reduced support costs
Reduced machine or process downtime
Scalable use of resources to provide support to multiple customers
Belden Horizon™ – Simple, Secure, and Managed

Belden Horizon is an industrial remote connectivity and edge orchestration software platform. It is a cloud-native service that is easy to use, secure, and optimized for highly reliable performance. The platform has been engineered specifically for mission-critical industrial process/plant/machine uptime. Belden Horizon supports multiple applications.

Secure Remote Access (SRA) or Secure Machine Access (SMA)

SRA allows an automation technician or an authorized service provider (like a systems integrator or a machine builder) to connect to a specific machine to troubleshoot or perform routine maintenance. SRA, if implemented correctly, can help reduce downtime, and provide improved first incident response and easier access to outside expertise. Belden Horizon’s SRA application will enable you to have a positive impact on productivity and profitability without needlessly exposing other parts of your network.

Persistent Data Network (PDN)

PDN establishes a permanent connection between geographically dispersed locations for a SCADA-type network, like monitoring a municipal water utility or a gas distribution network. PDN is simple, secure, and managed, allowing users to focus on their primary objective – delivering on their continuous service. • File transfer. Receive files from devices on the OT network (like a PLC) and then transfer the files to an IT network for backup without creating a connection between the OT and IT network.  Click here for more information.
